I know that some of the articles on here are going to upset some people. It is NEVER my intent to insult or belittle people, so PLEASE don’t take my articles that way. The reason I say the things I do is that our ultimate destiny is at stake in this life. Only one “religion” (if any) can be correct becuase all religions teach things that other religions deny.
For example, Mormonism teaches that there are potentially an infinite number of Gods, Islam teaches that there is only one God, and mainstream Christianity teaches that there is one God in three persons, known as the trinity. AT LEAST two of them MUST be wrong.
Some people may not believe that, but what someone believes ultimately has no affect on the truth (objective reality). So please understand that my passion is discussing faith with people because I care about them and want them to be saved. However, as that happens, some of the most foundational and cherished beliefs of people will be challenged. I hope that you challenge me as well as ultimately ALL of us are looking for the truth.
I pray that you understand that my motivation is love for God, love for truth and love for ALL people.
My name is Neil. I am a Christian. I am not a theologian. I have not been to seminary, just a studious individual who enjoys writing and sharing ideas, especially regarding Christianity and scripture. I am a middle school teacher near Portland, Oregon looking to share my thoughts and opinions on numerous topics through my “Christian Lenses”. What I mean by this is I want to look at the topics brought up from a largely biblical/Christian perspective. Please feel free to leave comments.
My goals in producing this blog are as follows:
Use it as an outlet for creativity. I enjoy communicating with others in a variety of ways and writing is one of my favorites.
Hoping that “Iron is sharpened” both for my readers and myself (this is in reference to Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpens iron. So one man sharpens another”). I hope that both my readers and I improve our knowledge of God and his word, and also learn how to apply that knowledge to our lives and in witnessing to others.
Discussing issues of spirituality that are important in peoples personal, social, political and spiritual lives.
Give my personal opinion on various forms of media from time to time (Video Games, Movies, Books, Music etc.)
Keep me from doing something besides playing more video games all day.
Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love. – 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
